Dolby Laboratories today announced that Sony’s newly announced premium 4K HDR TV line will feature Dolby Vision high-dynamic-range technology.

“Our collaboration with Sony marks another significant milestone for Dolby Vision,” said Giles Baker, senior vice president, consumer entertainment group, Dolby Laboratories. ”Now consumers can experience next-generation imaging on Sony TVs worldwide, and have access to a vibrant selection of premium cinematic and episodic content.”

“We are thrilled to work with Dolby to incorporate Dolby Vision into our newly announced premium 4K HDR TV line, giving our consumers access to top-of-the-line HDR content,” said Kazuo Kii, deputy president, Sony Visual Products. “Dolby Vision enables dramatic imaging, incredible brightness, breathtaking contrast, and a fuller range of colors that preserve artistic intent.”

Dolby Vision is the preferred HDR mastering workflow for major studios and a growing number of creative professionals, so consumers will have access to more of what they want to watch in HDR, including a robust portfolio of movies and episodic content.
