Blazing Griffin, a BAFTA-winning games, post-production, film, and TV production facility based in Glasgow has installed an Alcons pro ribbon system for its high-end film mixing room. It’s the first Alcons mix room in Scotland and also the first installation of an Alcons CRMSC Compact Cinema Reference Monitor System in the United Kingdom.
Christie’s principal product developer, Mike Perkins, has been awarded the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Award in Scientific and Engineering, along with three other recipients, for his work on the design and development of the Christie E3LH projection system, developed in partnership with Dolby Laboratories. The Academy’s Scientific and Technical Awards honor individuals and companies whose discoveries and innovations have contributed in significant and lasting ways to motion pictures.
Nearly all cinemas using GDC Technology’s DTS:X object-based rendering server technology in North America, Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Singapore and South Asia have completed the conversion to support the international immersive audio bitstream standard in DTS:X cinemas. In South Asia, 13 DTS:X cinemas will be installed with IAB by the end of 2023.

PVR Inox has announced the opening of its fourth property in the city of temples, Bhubaneswar. The new four-screen multiplex is the first cinema in the city featuring all 4K laser projection and Dolby Atmos sound.
