ASG Tops 100 NetApp E-Series in Use

Advanced Systems Group says that more than 100 film and video production and post-production clients are now using its NetApp's E-Series storage systems. "In the video and film production world, digital storage has transitioned from being a useful part of the process to being the central hub of the process,” said Dave Van Hoy, founder and president, ASG. “As such, the value of tier-one products such as the NetApp E-Series has become not just desired, but critical."

Barcelona creative shop Trizz is known for its unconventional work, directing and designing for a mix of 3D, VFX and experience design, including multi-touch, interactive and projection mapping. Its work appears in TVCs, art galleries, publications and even during concerts and other live events. Chris Vulpi and Oriol Puig, who co-founded Trizz in 2009, say they have identified inefficiencies in the VFX and post industry and applied a more streamlined, workable model to their business.

HGST, a Western Digital company, and Maxx Digital have announced that Red Studios Hollywood has deployed the Maxx Digital Evo 6G 16-bay rack mount media server. The server is powered by 4TB HGST Ultrastar 7K4000 enterprise-class hard disk drives and configured with ATTO Raid controller to support capacity, bandwidth and performance needs for streaming and “screening” next-generation 4K, 5K and 6K high-resolution files.
