Unique Digital is providing digital cinema package content management services to GrimmFest 2016, the ever-expanding horror and cult film festival, which begins October 6 at Manchester’s Odeon Printworks cinema. GrimmFest has become one of the largest genre film festivals in the UK outside of the capital.
Exhibiting more than 30 features acrossf4 days requires surety of content delivery from a number of sources. Greg Walker, GrimmFest’s festival and events manager said that in discussion with the Unique Movie Transit team about a particular feature delivery, there was a realization that the Unique team were in a position to help manage all DCP content delivery needs.
“Providing a centralized facility to receipt incoming DCP content from numerous sources and then to provide a single conduit of that content to the venue is exactly the workflow and service we were looking for,” Walker said. “The service has made the usually quite precarious task of gathering content from around the world extremely simple and very painless.”
Nick Johnson, Unique Digital’s DCP distribution manager said, “We are delighted to be supporting the Manchester based GrimmFest, being based in Manchester where the festival is being held makes us proud in supporting such a recognized event. GrimmFest runs at the Odeon Printworks Manchester from October 6-9.
