Kino Arena Installing Atom Seating at its Sofia, Bulgaria Movie Theatre

Kino Arena is installing recliners from Atom Seating at its movie theatre in the Sofia Mall in Sofia, Bulgaria. A total of 750 Atom Seating Helium recliners, a Spaces and Between brand, will be installed. Kino Arena owner Stefan Minchev said he chose Helium recliners as a step towards enhancing the overall movie experience of the cinemagoers.

DP Nicolaj Bruel and director Matteo Garrone, who first worked together on the award-winning 2018 feature film Dogman, recently repeated their collaboration on the live action Italian language feature film Pinocchio, starring Oscar winner Roberto Benigni. A live action adaptation of the classic fairy tale about a wooden puppet that is brought to life, the production had to be right on many levels.

Pathé Netherlands Signs Customer Agreement With Cielo

Pathé Netherlands today signed an agreement to deploy Cielo’s cinema enterprise system for all their sites in the Netherlands. The agreement was implemented by Unique X, Pathé’s long time provider of the RossettaBridge theatre management system. Cielo’s software will act as a complement to Unique X's platform. Pathé has 246 screens across the Netherlands.

Number of European Films Released Abroad is on the Rise

In 2018, a total of 696 European films were theatrically released in at least one of the 15 non-European markets, a new report shows. This is the largest number of European films released outside Europe in the past five years and represents about nine percent of the total number of European films on release worldwide. European films represented 18 percent of the tracked number of films on release in the 15 non-European sample markets. The European Audiovisual Observatory has released an updated edition of the report entitled The Circulation of European films outside Europe.

CinemaCon 2020 To Go On As Planned

John Fithian, president and CEO of the National Association of Theatre Owners and Mitch Neuhauser, managing director of the trade show CinemaCon have issued a joint memo to the industry offering an update regarding the impact the Coronavirus or COVID-19 is having on CinemaCon 2020, set to convene March 30 at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. In doing so they made one thing clear: as of now, CinemaCon 2020 will go on as planned.
