The Ymagis Group has installed its first screen in the United States and its 100th cinema auditorium overall with EclairColor high dynamic range at the Alamo Drafthouse cinema in Austin, Texas. The 100 EclairColor screens are currently located across Germany (47) and France (46), the United Kingdom (3), Italy (1), Switzerland (1), Tunisia (1) and the USA (1).
Ymagis Group will showcase EclairColor HDR cinema technology at the upcoming Fédération Nationale des Cinémas Français convention in Deauville, France. Two special presentations will take place at the Centre International de Deauville’s Michel d’Ornano Auditorium on September 26 and 27. Technical presentations of the technology will be also held. The EclairColor presentations will be open to all FNCF convention delegates
FilmLight has released of Baselight 5.0, along with 5.0 color tools across its entire product range. Offering more than 50 new features, version 5.0 has been used over the last year on a variety of real projects with complex workflows. According to the company, the feedback from colorists around the world has been very positive.

Technicolor in London has completed post on Tulip Fever, a romantic period drama from The Weinstein Company and directed by Justin Chadwick. As well as performing the grade, conform and deliverables, Jean-Clément Soret, MPC’s global creative director of color grading, was also responsible for completing the trailers, allowing the audience to be immersed in the look and feel of the movie from the preview onwards.
AlphaDogs has completed post on the psychedelic horror film Buzzard Hollow Beef where the phrase “you are what you eat” takes on a whole new meaning. In this suspenseful food horror story, a family experiences vivid hallucinations, leading them to believe that cannibalistic hillbillies have poisoned them.
Hare Krishna! The Mantra, The Movement and the Swami Who Started It All is a documentary film on the life of Srila Prabhupada—the 70-year-old Indian Swami who arrived in America without support or money in the turbulent 1960s and ignited a worldwide spiritual phenomenon with only his unflinching determination and faith. The film posted at AlphaDogs in Burbank. As with most historical documentaries, the biggest hurdle the team had to overcome were the technical challenges inherent in working with multiple source formats.
Éclair and EuropaCorp have announced that Luc Besson’s latest film, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, will be available in ÉclairColor and in 2D in select cinemas in France July 26 and in Germany July 20, via Universum Films.
AlphaDogs has completed post-production services on Sony’s new superhero comedy, Cross Wars, a high-spirited and dynamic action comedy in the vein of Deadpool and The Cannonball Run. The story features lots of celebrities (Danny Trejo, Tom Sizemore, Brian Austin Green, Vinnie Jones and more), as well as newcomers having fun battling the streets of Los Angeles, with hot girls, sexy guns and witty banter.
Released this month by IFC Films, Band Aid marks the directorial debut of Zoe Lister-Jones, best known for her acting roles on Life in Pieces and New Girl. The film has been earning rave reviews for its engaging story of a couple who turn to songwriting to work out their marital difficulties. It has also generated lots of buzz for Lister-Jones’s unique decision to employ women in all key production and post-production crew positions.
