The Event Cinema Association today announced that founder and managing director Melissa Cogavin has mutually agreed with the board of directors to resign her position. The board has elected to manage the day-to-day running of the ECA for an interim period and will be seeking a replacement for Cogavin in the near future.

The Hollywood Section of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers will delve into the deep history of moving imagery with filmmaker, inventor, and author Lenny Lipton at its monthly meeting March 22 in Hollywood. Lipton will offer a presentation based on his forthcoming book The Cinema in Flux.

The American Society of Cinematographers has named Eric Rodli as executive director, effective immediately. In his new role, Rodli will be responsible for driving initiatives that uphold the mission of the organization – to advance the art and science of cinematography – and creating a supportive community for its members.

The Event Cinema Association’s fifth annual conference will take place February 7 at Vue West End in Leicester Square, London. A highlight of the event cinema industry calendar, the conference brings together a diverse range of content producers, technical providers, distributors and exhibitors from all over the world.
