Submissions Open for Moët British Independent Film Awards

Submissions are now open for this year’s Moët British Independent Film Awards, which will be held on December 8. Nominations will be announced on November 11.

In 2012 Bart Layton picked up the The Douglas Hickox Award for Best Debut Director for The Imposter, Broken took home the coveted Best British Independent Film, Andrea Riseborogh won Best Actress for Shadow Dancer, while Toby Jones (Best Actor) and Peter Strickland (Best Director) won for their work on Berberian Sound Studio.

Shedding Light on an Affair

Directed by and written by Farzana Tipurita and produced by Chris Carr, owner of Beyond Mirrors, the short film The Other Woman depicts a life-changing encounter at a beauty salon between a wife who’s hiding her unhappiness behind Gucci shades, and a mistress who’s concealing her frustrations behind a professional facade. The film was a co-production between Mandala Films and Beyond Mirrors Ltd.

Post Complete on Disconnect

Post-production on Disconnect has been completed at Technicolor-Postworks in New York, where the work ran the gamut from dailies processing through digital intermediates colorist Tim Stipan (Moonrise Kingdom, Black Swan) applied the final grade, working alongside Rubin and cinematographer Ken Seng. Disconnect, the new drama from LD Entertainment and director Henry Alex Rubin, weaves three loosely related narrative lines, each of which relates to the Internet and the way it is affecting human relationships.

Cinedigm to Distribute Visitors

Cinedigm has acquired all North American distribution rights to Visitors, the new film from director Godfrey Reggio, composer Philip Glass and filmmaker Jon Kane. Seven years in the making, Visitors is the fourth film that Reggio and Glass have collaborated on following the groundbreaking, internationally acclaimed, Qatsi Trilogy formed by the films Koyaanisqatsi, Powaqqatsi, and Naqoyqatsi.

Universal Studios, Cinedigm to Partner in Home Entertainment Market

Cinedigm and Universal Studios Home Entertainment have entered into a multi-year agreement whereby Universal will provide comprehensive supply-chain services across North America for Cinedigm’s growing DVD and Blu-ray library of independent films, documentaries, TV programs and other content, the two companies announced today.  Cinedigm’s existing sales force will continue selling directly to customers.
