Let Me Out to Have Back-to-Back Korea and U.S. Release, an Indie First

Group 1200 Media, in conjunction with Giant Ape Media, announced today a partnership with Tugg to release live-action Korean zombie coming of age melodrama, Let Me Out theatrically in three U.S. cities simultaneously for one night only on Wednesday, September 25th at 7:30pm. Let Me Out is the first Korean independent film released back-to-back in both Korea and the U.S. and is distributed in the U.S. by Funimation Entertainment, a Group 1200 Media company, based in Flower Mound, Texas.

Cinedigm Acquires Adventures of the Penguin King

Cinedigm today announced it has acquired the North American distribution rights to Adventures of the Penguin King, a documentary produced by Atlantic Productions that tracks in intimate detail, the exploits of one spunky King Penguin. Shot entirely in 4K 3D digital cinema, the film is told by Tim Allen. Cinedigm is planning a multi-platform release this winter.

Digital Cinema Destinations, Screenvision Form Alternative Content Distribution Alliance

Screenvision has announced that it will distribute content for Digital Cinema Destinations (Digiplex). The first joint theatrical title will be the documentary The United States of Football, which will debut August 23.

Cinemark to Add Barco Auro 11.1 Sound to 150 Digital Cinema Screens

Cinemark has selected Barco to deploy its immersive cinema sound solution, Auro 11.1, in more than 150 premium Extreme Digital (XD) digital cinema screens worldwide. Cinemark will begin the worldwide deployment this year in all of its “tier one” markets, starting with North America.
