Omniplex Cinemas, one of the UK and Ireland’s largest cinema chains, has unveiled two newly renovated screens at their Clydebank location, showing off new luxury Recline seating as part of its extensive renovation plans this year. With the luxury seating arriving just in time for the release of The Iron Claw, the new wrestling thriller starring Zac Efron and Lily James, in cinemas February 9, film fans in Clydebank can now enjoy cinematic adventures in ultimate comfort, with the Recline seating boasting fully electric reclining seats and generous legroom.

The work has only just begun for Omniplex, which is embarking on an ambitious revamp of the cinema this year. The refurbishment will see the cinema company’s trademark Recline seating and relaxing sofa beds installed in every screen, along with kiosks and touch screen collection points arriving in the main lobby.

Omniplex has also announced two new OmniplexMaxx screens will be coming to Clydebank later this year. OmniplexMaxx is the cinema chain’s Premium Large Format and immerses the viewer through three key senses, sight, sound and feel.

Each OmniplexMaxx screen incorporates luxury Recline seating, a gigantic screen for the ultimate viewing experience and a Dolby Atmos 3D sound system.

Paul John Anderson, director of the Omniplex Cinema Group said, “We are delighted to kick off our renovation plans in Clydebank, plans which we know will elevate the viewing experience for our customers and allow them to watch films in the ultimate comfort. We know the Clydebank cinema is central to the community, which is why this investment is so important. With the addition of our Recline seating and the OmniplexMaxx screens later in the year, we are giving the cinema a new lease of life and cannot wait to see our customers enjoying the best we have to offer.”

The renovation works at Omniplex Clydebank come after news of Omniplex Cinema Group’s expansion into Great Britain last year, with the Irish cinema company making an investment of £22.5 million over the next 18 months to acquire and refurbish five existing Empire Cinema locations across Great Britain.

Omniplex first opened its doors to customers in Ireland in 1991 and has since amassed a total of 353 screens across 43 cinema locations..
