Nite Owl Theatre has created a laser projection drive-in cinema experience in the heart of Miami, Florida. Featuring a 53-foot screen, the Knight Foundation-backed theatre can accommodate between 65-70 cars per screening. This enables Miami area movie lovers to reconnect with the big screen from the safety of their car and ensures theater guests will enjoy enhanced visual experiences, with brighter higher quality images, while maintaining social distance in the new venue.

CCM Cinemas Installs Costa Rica’s First Laser Projectors

Costa Rican cinema chain CCM Cinemas has opened the country’s first movie theatre equipped with an RGB pure laser projector. The cinema, located at Plaza Occidente multiplex in San Ramón, the country’s second largest city, has installed a Christie CP2315-RGB projector, as well as Christie Vive Audio speakers and Dolby Atmos sound. Showbiz Cinemas has opened a new theatre at the site of its previous location in Waxahachie, Texas. The 66,000 square foot building is now home to Bowling, Movies & More, offering an exciting one-stop destination for all family members. The location features thirteen auditoriums, all with new plush power recliner seating, new 7.1 surround sound systems and wall-to-wall, ceiling-to-floor curved screens.

Maya Cinemas is installing Cinionic Giant Screens in all its Maya Premiere Experience auditoriums. The first three MPX powered by CGS locations, Maya Cinemas Fresno, Bakersfield, and North Las Vegas, will be ready to welcome Maya audiences in time for Thanksgiving. All the screens are more than sixty feet wide.

Toho Cinemas Installs Cinionic Laser Projection in Tachikawa Location

Toho Cinemas has selected Cinionic laser cinema projection for its new Tachikawa location, which opened in September. The theatre is the first Cinionic laser site for Toho Cinemas, one of Japan’s largest exhibitors with more than 679 screens across 72 locations and will include Barco Series 4 and Barco Smart laser units.
