Qube, UFO Partner to Revitalize Cinema Business in India and Nepal

In the wake of the pandemic, UFO Moviez India and Qube Cinema Technologies, have announced, subject to necessary approvals, their intention to forge a strategic alliance, proposing two 50:50 joint ventures aimed at bolstering the cinema industry recovery. One joint venture will be focused on the commercial monetization and marketing of the combined cinema advertising inventory, on behalf of UFO and Qube in India, and the other to oversee feature film mastering, localization, and content delivery within India and Nepal.

Recreating the Uphaar Cinema Trial by Fire

FutureWorks helped to recreate Delhi’s Uphaar Cinema disaster for the recent Netflix drama Trial by Fire, delivering all previs images for the devastating fire scenes. The seven-part miniseries is a dramatization of the tragic events of June 13, 1997, where a fire caused by ill-maintained equipment during an afternoon screening of the war epic Border resulted in the deaths of 59 people, with a further 103 injured in the resulting stampede. Due to multiple safety violations, many cinema-goers were trapped inside, eventually succumbing to smoke inhalation.

Galalite Screens Upgrades to Improve Sustainablity

Galalite Screens, India, has taken a step towards reducing its carbon footprint and improving sustainability by investing in an air and water pollution control system in its plant. During the production of Avatar, Galalite’s factory operated around the clock to meet the demand. Following the success of the film, they temporarily closed the plant to undergo significant upgrades.

Cinematographer Uses Anamorphic Lenses to Shoot Malayam Film Christopher
