The Kinepolis Group NV, the Belgian company operating 109 cinemas and 1,131 screens worldwide, has been named as the 2024 recipient of the CineEurope Milestone Award, given in recognition of its outstanding accomplishments within European cinema exhibition. The Award will be presented as part of the CineEurope Awards Ceremony on June 20 at the Centre Convencions Internacional Barcelona in Barcelona, Spain.
Nordisk Film Cinemas, the largest cinema chain in Norway with 71 screens in 20 theatres, has signed an agreement with Vista Entertainment Solutions to install its software across the enterprise. This is Vista Entertainment’s first such agreement in Scandinavia.
The International Union of Cinemas, representing European cinema operators and trade associations, has today released 2023 box office and admissions data for its 39 territories. The figures represent the first assessment of European cinemas’ performance last year, based on preliminary estimates. Detailed final data will be released later in the spring.

The Kinepolis Group has expanded its longstanding partnership with CJ 4DPlex to include 21 more ScreenX auditoriums across Europe and North America. This expansion will give Kinepolis the largest ScreenX footprint in all of mainland Europe.

The 28th European Union Film Festival is now underway in New Delhi across three prominent venues—the India Habitat Centre, Instituto Cervantes (Spanish Cultural Center), and The Goethe-Institut /Max Mueller Bhavan. The Apollo Kinas, a new premium multiplex at the Vilnius Outlet shopping center in Lithuania has opened with a complete range of Christie Digital Systems cinema technology. Christie partner BMK installed a Christie CP4425-RGB and five CP2415-RGB RealLaser illumination technology, each accompanied by a Christie Vive Audio sound system, to immerse audiences in its six screens.
