GDC Technology and Dolby Laboratories have reached an agreement to resolve the litigation filed by GDC against Dolby.

Schulman Theatres is installing GDC Technology’s SX-4000 Standalone IMB and XSP-1000 Cinema Processor in its newest venue, the Schulman Film Alley in Weatherford, Texas. The new Schulman Film Alley is scheduled to open to the public on October 28. Schulman Theatres partnered with Sonic Equipment Company for the system integration.
GDC Technology has completed the full range of tests necessary to receive compliance from the Digital Cinema Initiative for its SX-4000 Standalone integrated media block. Vista Group International’s cinema data measurement company Numero today announced the signing of Roadshow Films in Australia and New Zealand. Roadshow Films will use Numero’s services to track daily box office results in the Australasian market. Numero has developed its testing and building capabilities and is now delivering the product to the broader film distribution community.

Arts Alliance Media has signed a new direct agreement with Shanghai SFC Film & Television Technology Development to deliver its Lifeguard system monitoring software. Lifeguard provides centralized equipment monitoring and support ticketing capabilities, enabling a comprehensive maintenance service to be provided to cinemas. The deal will see 5,000 cinema screens covered by AAM’s Lifeguard, enhancing the capabilities of SFC’s Network Operations Centre as it serves both SFC screens and those of its external exhibitor customers.
Cineworld Group, one of Europe’s largest cinema businesses and operators of the Cineworld chain, has selected AAM’s Screenwriter Theatre Management System software for more than 750 screens. AAM already supplies Screenwriter TMS software, as well as its Producer enterprise circuit management software, to Cineworld’s 900 screens in the UK. This deal significantly extends AAM’s software footprint across several new geographic areas, including Israel and Eastern Europe.
Unique Digital and Cinedavis today announced the creation of a distribution partnership to provide electronic delivery of feature films for the German market. This partnership will directly benefit from the recently announced alliance between Deluxe Technicolor and Unique Digital to provide a long-term viable future for Deluxe’ customers in terms of content delivery, with Unique as the preferred vendor in agreed territories worldwide. Delivery of feature film to specific exhibitors will be possible by the end of quarter three with a plan to have connected more than 200 cinemas by March 2017.
