Oscilliscope Acquires Always Shine

Oscilloscope Laboratories announced today that it has acquired U.S. rights from Visit Films to Sophia Takal’s second directorial feature, Always Shine, which recently bowed at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival, where it won the award for Best Actress in a U.S. Narrative Feature Film. Oscilloscope will release the film in theaters later this year.

Thinkbox Software Offers Free On-Demand Licensing in May

Thinkbox Software is providing free licensing hours of Deadline and Krakatoa as well as free hours of The Foundry’s Nuke and Katana, and Chaos Group’s V-Ray for the month of May. Deadline 8, now available, introduces on-demand, per-minute licensing for Thinkbox tools and third-party applications. Users will receive the complimentary time in 10,000-hour increments.

The system, based on ISO 14001, focuses on building and continually improving Christie’s environmental performance. The EMS encompasses numerous environmental programs including waste reduction, recycling, water and electricity reduction, facility and operational improvements, with a significant net CO2 reduction.

Novra Technologies, IDC to Merge

Novra Technologies has announced a proposed merger with International Datacasting Corporation. Under the terms of the merger agreement, Novra will acquire 100 percent of the issued and outstanding common shares of IDC for total purchase consideration of approximately $1.9 million. This proposed transaction was done at arm's length and there was no finder's fee.

First 4DX Auditorium Coming to Kuwait

CJ 4DPplex has announced that the company has signed a contract to open the first 4DX auditorium in Kuwait with KNCC (Kuwait National Cinema Company), the country’s number one cinema operator. Also, 4DX has signed an MOU with China’s SFC (Shanghai Film Corporation) early this month, which opens the way to an in-depth discussion on the actual launch of 4DX theaters.
