Galaxy Theatres Net $10 Million in Online Ticket Sales

Leading cinema operator, Galaxy Theatres has netted a record $10 million in ticket sales from its online platform in the past year. The theatre operator with locations in California, Nevada, Texas, Washington and Iowa, has reported consistently high returns from investment in its web presence; online revenue has doubled every year for the last four years at a time when overall box office sales has slowed in the US. 

The buoyant growth comes with the support of a successful partnership with Peach, the international web, mobile and marketing specialist for the cinema sector. Demand for advanced ticket sales through the Galaxy website has grown significantly with the introduction of the new Galaxy Luxury-Plus concept which was rolled out across the circuit over the last two years, offering customers fully reclining seats and waiter service in the auditorium. This, coupled with the seamless online customer experience provided by the Peach website, has strengthened Galaxy’s offer, ensuring that revenue has consistently increased every year since the popular theatre chain started web sales with Peach in 2011.

Building on this success, Galaxy recently commissioned Peach to deploy a fully responsive website which provides a consistent online experience for customers whether they access it from their desktop, mobile or tablet. The new site went live in March 2015 and was built on the new Peach Cinemas’ platform, recently showcased at CinemaCon 2015. The new site is already outperforming its predecessor in terms of download speed and it has set a new benchmark for sales conversions within its first month of operation.

Peach’s newly-constructed platform provides a robust and flexible online sales and marketing solution that integrates directly with exhibitors’ Point Of Sale systems to power all online channels, including desktop and mobile websites, mobile apps, CRM programs and in-foyer screens.
