Christie will continue its longtime sponsorship of the Toronto International Film Festival by providing multiple Christie Solaria Series digital cinema projectors. Recognized around the world for presenting the best of international and Canadian cinema to film lovers the Festival screens more than 300 films from more than 60 countries during its 11-day program September 6-16 in addition to offering year-long programming. This year Christie renewed its official technical sponsorship of the Festival de Cannes for the next three years a position it has held since 2006. In addition Christie was the exclusive projection sponsor of the Water for Elephants screening at the opening gala of the 14th Shanghai International Film Festival last year. Today Christie equipment is found in more than half of all digital projection rooms – about 33 000 projectors in use.
