Ballantyne Strong has entered into a definitive reseller agreement with Barco to distribute their full line of digital cinema products with expectations of adding additional Barco lines as they become available. Ballantyne will be marketing Barco offerings in the Americas (North Central and South) and the Caribbean. Barco Installs its First 4K 3D Projection Installation in Greater China ,2011-11-14, Barco has installed its first 3D image plus 3D sound combination in greater China more specifically in the Wangfujing Cineplex in Chengdu China. This is the first time that Barco has provided both audio and visual technology in the digital cinema field. The Wangfujing Cineplex installation includes Barco's DP4K-32B Enhanced 4K cinema projector and the Auro 3D 11.1 Channel Sound System.
 Beichuan Zhang an influential pioneer in China's film industry and acting president of Emei Film Group and general manager of Pacific Cinema Circuit says “Pacific Cinema Circuit is continually advancing with the world-leading digital projection technology. 3D audio is the latest evolution in the 3D movie experience. CAC Names Mark Mitchell President and Chairman,2011-11-14, The Cinema Advertising Council has elected Mark Mitchell president and chairman and Cliff Marks executive director.  Effective immediately they join Bob Brouillette and Laura Adler who are returning as treasurer and secretary respectively.  
 
The CAC also announced that Lee Heffernan (Screenvision) will take over as chair of the marketing committee and Sunil Soman (National CineMedia) will take over as chair of the research committee. Laura Adler will remain chair of the public relations committee.
  “It’s both an honor and pleasure for me to be helping to lead the CAC during this remarkable period in marketing and advertising.  With the ongoing challenges that traditional ad-supported television faces the in-theater environment is actually increasing in relative value to brands ” says Mitchell.  “Cinema was the original ‘first screen ’ and remains as one of the most commercially-friendly venues for marketers to connect with consumers.  Through the CAC and its members we will be working to enhance that opportunity in ways that build even greater return and measurable results.” Mitchell is also the chief revenue officer of Screenvision where he is responsible for all revenue generation from national regional and local advertising of Screenvision cinema advertising activities. Before his time at Screenvision Mitchell held many positions in the media industry including chief relationship officer for Canoe Ventures; executive vice president sales for Premiere Retail Networks; executive vice president sales and marketing for Office Media Networks; and several senior management positions for the ABC Television Network over the course of his 10 years with the company. Marks the outgoing president and chairman is also the president of sales and marketing at NCM a position he has held since 2002 and was recently identified as #17 on the 2010 Mediaweek 50 which lists top executives in the advertising and media industry who “advanced innovation revenue and influence for their companies.” Prior to joining NCM he was senior vice president national sales for ESPN/ABC Sports from 1989-2002 and a network TV buyer at BBDO Advertising from 1984-1987. Brouillette has been a CAC officer since 2004. He is also NCM’s senior vice president of business development where he is challenged to identify and capture sponsorship opportunities forge new business partnerships with other entertainment and media companies and create new media solutions for undeveloped NCM client categories. Prior to his time at NCM Brouillette held several senior level positions throughout his 17 years in the media industry including executive vice president marketing and business development at Fanfare Media Works as from 2000-2002; senior vice president marketing and business and at News America Marketing from 1997-2000; and senior vice president sales and marketing for SPAR Marketing Force from 1993-1997.   Adler is president of A&G Marketing Group and serves clients in both the for-profit and not-for profit sectors including the CAC which she’s managed since its inception in 2003.  Adler worked at National Cinema Network for more than 18 years where she started her career as an account executive in 1986.  She was promoted in 1996 to vice president of marketing and public relations. Carmike to open 12-Screen Theatre in Tennessee,2011-11-14,Carmike Cinemas has announced the projected fall 2012 opening of a new Carmike Cinemas entertainment complex in the Bradley Square Mall in Cleveland Tennessee.
