Gofilex and Motion Picture Solutions — two established names in theatrical film servicing and digital content distribution — today announced that the companies have signed several commercial and financial agreements to pave the way for the strategic alliance of MPS’s 700-site LANsat estate with Gofilex’s pan-European network of more than 1,400 sites.
Fathom Events and BritBox will present Harry & Meghan: The Royal Wedding in nearly 200 U.S. cinemas commercial free on May 19 at 10 a.m. local time, through Fathom’s digital broadcast network. Tickets for Harry & Meghan: The Royal Wedding can be purchased at Fathom’s website or participating box offices. BritBox is the subscription service from BBC Studios and ITV.
Abramorama is managing the theatrical release of Straight Into A Storm, the music driven documentary about the band Deer Tick. The film will premiere June 15 in New York at the Roxy Cinema Tribeca.

The Corner Stories – created by Screenvision Media’s in-house creative team, 40 Foot Solutions — provides a behind-the-scenes look into small business owners making a difference in their communities. Beginning May 3 local businesses can nominate themselves for the chance to appear in the inaugural Corner Stories segment as part of Screenvision Media’s Front & Center preshow. The winning spot will debut on July 4 and continue to air across the company’s national footprint for the entire month.

GDC Technology announced today the completed integration of its TMS-2000 Theatre Management System with the Screenvision Media preshow. The integration enables automated ingestion and programming of ad content directly from Screenvision Media’s server to GDC’s new Cinema Automation CA2.0 and its TMS-2000, the second most deployed theatre management system in the world. The integration provides Screenvision Media’s network of exhibitors with preshow trimming functionality to maximize time available for preshow advertising between every show.
Screenvision Media today announced the latest exhibitor to join its network — Fridley Theatres —the largest Iowa-owned theatre circuit. Fridley Theatres, which previously had not run a national advertising preshow, will become the newest affiliate of Screenvision Media’s national advertising preshow, Front + Center. The partnership brings Screenvision Media’s screen count to 15,000 screens nationwide, a milestone.
Fathom Events’ live digital broadcast network, the largest cinema broadcast network in North America, will receive more than 200 additional theaters over the next 12-18 months, according to the company. This will expand its live event delivery capabilities to more than 1100 total cinemas and 1700 screens across the U.S. The expansion and upgrade is part of an extended agreement with DISH Network for the delivery of both pre-recorded and live cinema events.
Nagra, a Kudelski Group company, and the Entertainment Technology Center, a think tank and research center within the USC School of Cinematic Arts, have partnered to map Fandom Genomics. This data science study is being conducted to support the launch of myCinema, a new broadband-based in-theatre platform system, which offers a large catalog of alternative content titles to theatre circuits of all sizes and locations. myCinema is being launched for the first time at Cinemacon 2018.
