NCM Fathom Presented Giselle in 3D on 160 Screens

NCM Fathom presented Mariinsky’s Giselle the world’s first the 3D ballet on July 12 at more than 160 select movie theatres across the United States. Presented by London-based distributor More2Screen and NCM Fathom Giselle in 3D was filmed by the UK production company Can Communicate. We are delighted to be working with NCM Fathom to distribute Giselle in 3D across the States a partnership which will drive the next stage of the ballet's hugely successful global roll-out says Christine Costello More2Screen managing director.

Odeon Signs with Unique Digital’s Network Operations Center Services

Odeon Cinemas has signed an exclusive agreement with Unique Digital for the supply of full network operations center services to manage the ongoing operation of their cinema network in the UK. Odeon has 103 cinemas and 822 screens in the UK and are half way through their deployment with 52 sites completed to date. 
   “Odeon has worked closely with the Unique NOC since the commencement of our digital cinema deployment and we are delighted to be adding this service to the project ” says Roger Harris COO Odeon UCI Cinemas.

Nowell Chooses Pictorvision for Air Racers 3D

Aerial director of photography David B. Nowell ASC recently took Pictorvision’s Eclipse into the air to capture stunning 3D footage that simulates the feeling of a real air race. The Eclipse footage is now being integrated into 3D footage shot by Vern Nobles Jr. for a 38-minute IMAX feature called Air Racers 3D an in-depth exploration of the fastest motor sport on earth at the annual Reno National Championship Air Races & Air Show. The final shoot took place earlier this month at Chino Airport in California and Reno-Stead Airfield in Nevada.

Pivotal Post which supplies editorial systems to film and television productions worldwide is now using Codex’s Digital Lab system as the hub of a new mobile workflow for backing up digital camera media processing dailies and preparing deliverables for editorial and other post production processes. Sonic Handling Conversion of Marshfield Cinema 8 in Wisconsin

Rogers Cinema has chosen Sonic Equipment Company for the conversion of its Marshfield Cinema 8 in Marshfield Wisconsin. Under the agreement GDC Technology will supply the digital cinema servers to be deployed in the conversion program. As part of Sonic’s aggressive installation agenda Rogers Cinema anticipates the entire chain to be fully converted by the end of 2012.   Scott Koran CEO at Rogers Cinema has been working closely with Sonic during the conversion process.

Spy Comes to the Rescue for Priest

Calling itself the first Hollywood transmedia production company United Motion Entertainment has announced the launch of its business. The company includes branded entertainment veteran Dominik Rausch as CEO and producer-actor-musician Kelly Blatz as vice president of strategic partnerships. They describe UME as a hybrid production company/marketing firm that they say is set to revolutionize the way that entertainment is produced distributed and promoted.
