Soho Digital Cinema Selects Fraunhofer to Optimize Distribution Workflow

The Department of Moving Picture Technologies of Fraunhofer IIS has announced that Soho Digital Cinema to simplify distribution workflow and ensure adherence to screening rights.  The integration of the easyDCP KDM Generator in SDC’s MEL a web application for KDM management and distribution enables SDC customers to create their own KDMs through the SDC website. DCPs and KDMs play an integral role in the digital cinema distribution workflow.

SmartJog Signs Delivery Deal with VS2 Portugal

SmartJog has signed with VS2 Portugal’s main independent local mastering lab. This agreement enables VS2 to use SmartJog’s delivery platform service to distribute digital cinema preshow content trailers and feature films directly to theaters connected in Portugal. Together with SmartJog VS2 will ensure a reliable and secure Digital Cinema Package circuit between Portuguese distributors and Portuguese SmartJog connected theaters (as of today Lusomundo exhibition NLC UCI).

China Film Group Orders 800 Barco Digital Cinema Projectors

Harlem the historic New York City neighborhood in northern Manhattan is experiencing its second Renaissance in a century. It began in the 1990s driven in part by people in search of affordable homes who flocked to the many large and beautiful brownstones along parks and on tree-lined streets there that had sadly fallen into disrepair. Unlike so many examples of gentrification though this one has not driven away the indigenous black and Latino culture that was born in the first Harlem Renaissance that took place from the 1920s through the 1930s.

QFX Cinemas Upgrades Audio

The QFX Cinemas a new three-screen multiplex capable of seating up to 939 viewers at any one time is Nepal’s first truly world-class Cineplex and is one of a trio of cinemas owned by QFX in the city. The new theatre is located in the Sundhara district of the capital Kathmandu is QFX Civil Mall the countries largest shopping area covering a total of 25 000 square feet. A key part of the theatre is its Alcons Audio system. QFX is the brand name of Quest Entertainment which was launched in Nepal a decade ago with the QFX Jai Nepal Cinema.
