Season one of the series, which showcases the wildlife inhabiting Alaska's national refuges and the men and women who protect them, is currently in rotation on the cable channel.

Spotlight Cinema Networks has signed a new long-term cinema advertising agreement with Landmark Theatres. Under the terms of the new agreement, Spotlight Cinema Networks will continue to have the exclusive right to market and exhibit advertising at Landmark Theatres, including their flagship location, The Landmark in Los Angeles, and new luxury venues, such as The Landmark at 57 West in New York City, Atlantic Plumbing Cinema in Washington DC, and The Landmark at Merrick Park in Miami. Landmark Theatres is the nation’s largest art house exhibitor with 52 theatres and 252 screens.

Peter Jackson Documentary Sets Fathom Box Office Record

In its first North American presentation, director Peter Jackson’s stunning World War I documentary They Shall Not Grow Old grossed $2.3 million at the domestic box office on Monday, setting a record for Fathom Events as the highest-grossing single-day documentary, and one of the top-grossing single-night presentations of any kind from the distribution company.

New DPA Mic Passes Its First Screen Test

Oscar winner Simon Hayes has become the first production sound mixer to use DPA’s new d:screet Core 6000 Series subminiature microphones on a major feature film. The currently untitled movie, which is due for release in 2019, is a musical comedy directed by Danny Boyle and written by Richard Curtis (Love Actually, Notting Hill). Although details of the plot are sketchy, it is set in the 1960s and 1970s and stars Lily James, Kate McKinnon, Ed Sheeran and Himesh Patel.

Former Sony Pictures Entertainment senior executive Jonathan Gordon has joined SoundFi as executive vice president, head of global operations and business development. Gordon will be part of SoundFi’s senior management team and will work closely with founder/CEO Chris Anastas, president – entertainment division Tracy Falco, and COO/CFO Bill Kehoe. He will be responsible for leading global strategy as well as relations with studios, exhibitors, and other vital partners and industry stakeholders, as the company prepares for its next stage of growth.
