The Ringling College of Art and Design student senior thesis film Jinxy Jenkins and Lucky Lou has won the Best Computer Animated Short Award in the SIGGRAPH 2015 42nd Annual Computer Animation Festival.

Directed by acclaimed feature filmmaker Joseph Kosinski, Digital Domain collaborated with agency 72andSunny and live action production company Reset, to create this breathtaking piece for one of the year’s best selling games. The piece for the first person shooter features a stunning blend of cinematic live action and visual effects.
Arri will be honored for its role in advancing the art and craft of filmmaking with the Cine Gear Expo 2015 Lifetime Technical Achievement Award on June 5 in a ceremony at Paramount Studios Hollywood. Dolby’s short animated film Silent won two Daytime Emmy Awards at the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ Daytime Creative Arts Emmys ceremony, held last Friday in Los Angeles, California. Created in conjunction with Moonbot Studios and CAA Marketing, a division of leading entertainment and sports agency Creative Artists Agency, Silent represents the evolution of film technology from the silent-film era to the present day. The three-minute film celebrates how storytellers, inventors, and technology work together to create magic in the cinema.
The spellbinding visual account of how flying animals evolved into the familiar species we see today, became a reality in the stunning documentary series David Attenborough’s Conquest of the Skies. Entertainment industry veteran Wendy Aylsworth, senior vice president, technology, Warner Bros. Technical Operations, has been selected as the 2015 recipient of the Inter-Society for the Enhancement of Cinema Presentation’s Ken Mason Award, honoring an individual who has made outstanding long-term contributions leading to the overall improvement of the motion picture experience. Susie Beiersdorf, president, Inter-Society, made the announcement.
