Suning Cinema Installs Christie Laser Projection

The Louvre Museum in Paris has selected Cinemeccanica France to supply and install a 6P CineCloud Lux laser projector and media server. The system, part of the Pyramid project, will be dedicated to the projection of arts, animation and various presentations related to the museum activities.
Wanda Pictures and Dolby Laboratories today announced that Wanda Pictures’ feature For A Few Bullets will be released for Dolby Cinema locations in China on July 15, making it the first Chinese local language movie mastered in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.
In Kursk, Russia, the brand-new, nine-screen Grinn Film multiplex will soon install two Barco Flagship Laser and seven laser-phosphor projectors. With this deal, Grinn Film becomes the first all-Barco laser multiplex in central and Eastern Europe. In addition, the Grinn Corporation announced that every theater in the Kursk multiplex will be fitted with Barco’s AuroMax immersive sound rendering technology – a European première.
Kinepolis Group will soon open Europe’s first all-Barco laser multiplex in Breda, the Netherlands. The new, ten-screen Kinepolis cinema complex will feature one Barco Flagship Laser and nine Barco phosphor laser projectors.
NEC has to date sold more than 1,000 digital cinema laser projectors worldwide. This achievement marks the evolution of NEC’s laser projector offerings since the launch of its world’s first DCI certified RGB laser projector and DCI certified laser phosphor projector in 2014.
Christie has signed an agreement with Odeon Multicines for the Spanish cinema chain to install Christie Solaria projectors – including Christie RGB laser cinema projectors and Christie Vive Audio sound systems – throughout its 12 screen multiplex at the Sambil Outlet shopping mall in Madrid. “This will make it the most advanced complex of its kind in Spain and the first in the country to be completely equipped with Christie Vive Audio and Dolby Atmos together in every auditorium,” said Adil Zerouali, Christie director for cinema, Europe.

Committed to offering its audiences a truly exceptional movie-going experience, Reel Cinemas will fit each of the 22 theaters at its multiplex at The Dubai Mall with Barco Flagship Laser projectors. In addition, the cinema will feature a Barco Escape installation – another first in the Gulf region. All the existing 22 digital cinema projectors at Reel Cinemas, The Dubai Mall will be replaced by Barco’s Flagship RGB Laser projectors (21x DP4K-22L; 1x DP4K-30L).
Jinyi Cinemas has signed Caiz Optronics Corporation and Cinemeccanica to retrofit 100 digital projectors in China this year in the top multiplexes in the cinema chain. The agreement is believed to be the biggest contract to date to introduce laser projection in the Chinese cinema market on wide scale.
