QSC has introduced a new Q-SYS plugin for Barco Series 4 Digital Cinema projectors. This integration allows users to easily add the Barco projector into a Q-SYS system to control and monitor projector functionality including macros, power, lamp, douser, and lens adjustments along with key status indicators all from a Q-SYS network touch screen, iOS UCI viewer or web browser.
Timed to the release of Avatar: The Way of Water, the Hayden Orpheum Picture Palace, one of the most beloved heritage cinemas in Australia, has installed a Christie CP4440-RGB pure laser projection system for its iconic auditorium.
Cinionic will install laser projection systems in Kinopolis theatres, one of the largest cinema groups in Germany. The installs are the first phase of a new project to bring laser-powered cinema to 48 Kinopolis screens across Germany by 2025, replacing Xenon projection with next-generation Barco technology from Cinionic’s all-laser portfolio.

Toho Cinemas, Japan, is installing Cinionic’s Barco Series 4 laser projection in 159 of its theatres. Following an initial laser installation in late 2020 at Toho Cinemas’ Tachikawa Tachihi location, laser projection by Cinionic was selected for the chain’s presentation technology renewal. Work is now underway to complete the project in the coming months, offering Japanese moviegoers an environmentally friendly and elevated cinematic experience.

The demonstrations showcased the full capabilities of the system – a creative blending of 4K, 3D, high brightness, high frame rate, high dynamic range, and wide color gamut display capabilities, paired with immersive sound.
Major Cineplex, the largest movie theatre operator in Thailand, has chosen Christie’s RGBe Series laser projection system for deployment in smaller auditoriums across its circuit. More than a dozen CP2310-RGBe projectors have so far been fitted in seven multiplexes located nationwide.
GDC Technology Limited announced today that it has signed an agreement with Film Expo Group to amplify its participation at CineAsia 2022. The agreement names GDC Technology as the Official Presenting Sponsor of CineAsia 2022, the largest cinema convention and trade show in the Asia Pacific region. CineAsia is taking place from December 5-8 at the True Icon Hall in Bangkok, Thailand. GDC is located on the seventh floor of True Icon Hall in meeting room MR2.
Christie Digital Systems has added three new cinema projectors for boutique and mid-sized theatres. According to the company, the new Christie Cinelife+ Series CP2415-RGB and CP2420-RGB offer the highest energy efficiency with Real|Laser illumination and the lowest cost of operation for their brightness class in the industry.
