FilmBuff Gets U.S. Rights to A Wonderful Cloud

Digital entertainment curator FilmBuff has licensed the U.S. rights to distribute A Wonderful Cloud, a feature-length improv comedy written, directed, and starring Eugene Kotlyarenko, with Kate Lyn Sheil (House of Cards, Queen of Earth). The film, which is inspired by the real life relationship between Kotlyarenko and Sheil, debuted at SXSW, and will open in select theaters nationwide.

Barco & Warners Take Cinema on the Road in Europe

Cinemagoers in Antwerp, Belgium, will be treated to a free, immersive 4D experience this Friday and Saturday, as Warner Bros’ CineTransformer stops at the Kinepolis multiplex to promote the brand-new Warner Bros action-thriller San Andreas. The CineTransformer is equipped with a compact, DCI-complaint Barco DP2K-10S projector.

A New Day for The Twilight Theatre

A Kansas town devastated by a major tornado in 2007 has rebuilt its historic theatre, lighting up its giant screen with a digital cinema projector donated by Christie. The projector illuminates the 58-foot-wide screen of the Twilight Theatre and Community Auditorium in Greensburg, Kansas, which is part of Kiowa County – about 100 miles west of Wichita. The theatre celebrated its grand reopening the weekend of April 24 with a red carpet-style opening night, featuring live music and a free screening of the 1985 hit movie, Back to the Future. The celebration continued over the weekend with family friendly activities and movies.

Technology Summit on Cinema to Focus on Building the Future of Storytelling

The 2015 NAB Technology Summit on Cinema, produced in partnership with SMPTE, will be dedicated to exploring the technical and creative innovations that will define the cinema experience of tomorrow. The two-day summit, titled Building the Future of Storytelling, will take place April 11-12 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
