BAFTA and Emmy award-winning visual effects and animation house Jellyfish Pictures is using Pixit Media’s PixStor’s new secure container services to meet the highest security accreditation standards, while supporting collaborative workflows across its multiple sites.
At this year’s Association of Moving Image Archivists annual conference in Baltimore, four awards will be presented by the organization to individuals and organizations that have demonstrated exceptional work in the areas of preservation. The ceremony will take place on November 14 at the Parkway Theatre in Baltimore, where the convention runs from November 13-16.
Post-production IT specialist Edwin Polanco has joined Periscope Post & Audio, Hollywood, as its chief engineer. Polanco will set engineering policies, oversee technical operations and lead technology planning. He will also manage the engineering aspects of the facility’s ongoing buildout.

Ascribe.ai is available directly from the Adobe Exchange Application Marketplace at no charge, and includes one hour of free transcription of video content on registration.
Goldcrest Post and CinePointe Advisors will unravel the process of preparing films for distribution in a special two-night workshop aimed at feature film and documentary producers and others responsible for budgeting and supervising films as they make their way through post-production. Sessions will offer insight into the legal, technical and physical aspects of film delivery, covering topics as wide-ranging as how to negotiate delivery terms to the intricacies of OTT delivery specs. Workshop leaders will include CinePointe Advisors business and financial affairs advisor Stacey Smith, Goldcrest Films head of production Gretchen McGowan and Goldcrest Post managing director Domenic Rom.
Frame.io, one of the world’s leading video review and collaboration platform used by more than one million filmmakers and media professionals, has hired Michael Cioni as senior vice president of global innovation. Cioni, one of the industry’s most prominent production and post workflow experts, joins Frame.io from international camera company Panavision, where, in a similar role, he spearheaded numerous breakthrough products and workflows, including the Millennium DXL 8K large-format camera system.
Éclair has hired Christophe Massie as the new head of its preservation division, effective immediately. An alliance has also been struck with Massie’s conservation and media management company, Orfeo. Under the agreement, Orfeo benefits from Éclair’s European sales and business services and relocates from its current premises to Éclair’s Paris-Vanves and Auxerre locations.
