Green Day Documentary in Theatres October 15

On the day of its world premiere at the 38th Mill Valley Film Festival, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees Green Day have announced a collaboration with Abramorama, Reprise Records and Vimeo to distribute the documentary, Heart Like a Hand Grenade, an unprecedented behind the scenes look at the writing and recording of their legendary album American Idiot. Abramorama will release the film theatrically in the United States on more than 135 screens on October 15 followed by an exclusive Vimeo On Demand release the next day, October 16.

Documentary South Bureau Homicide to Premiere in St. Louis

Rough Riders Studios’s feature documentary South Bureau Homicide will be making its world premiere at the 2015 Saint Louis International Film Festival November 14 at the Hi-Pointe Backlot Theatre. Special screenings for the community are being set up in St. Louis and in the neighboring community of Ferguson.

Concussion to Premiere at AFI Fest

The World Premiere of Sony Pictures' Concussion — starring two-time Academy Award nominee Will Smith, written and directed by Peter Landesman, and produced by Ridley Scott, Giannina Scott, David Wolthoff, Larry Shuman and Elizabeth Cantillon — will be the Centerpiece Gala of AFI Fest 2015 presented by Audi. The event will take place at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California on November 10.

GlobeDocs Film Festival begins October 7 in Boston

The inaugural GlobeDocs Film Festival will premiere on October 7 celebrating documentary films and filmmakers and inspiring audiences to experience all that Boston has to offer as a cornerstone of documentary filmmaking in the United States. The five-day documentary film festival is a signature event of HUBweek, a week-long celebration of the integration of art, science and technology, taking place in Boston October 3-10.

NewFest to be held October 22-27 in New York City

NewFest, in partnership with Outfest, today announced the lineup of their 27th annual celebration of the year’s best LGBT films from around the world. The program of nearly 100 narrative features, documentaries and shorts runs October 22-27 at the newly renovated Bow Tie Chelsea Cinemas, and at the recently completed screening room at The LGBT Community Center in New York City. The festival is presented by HBO.
