Goldcrest Post provided post-production services and support for three films debuting at this month’s 78th Venice International Film Festival. Among them is The Lost Daughter, a dramatic feature marking the directorial debut of Oscar-winner Maggie Gyllenhaal that is screening in the festival’s international competition.
The feature film Untold: This is My Story is set to have its world premiere this evening at seven o’clock during the Dances with Films: LA film festival at the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. The film is based on the true story of first-time director Gina M. Garcia who was abducted and raped when she was only eight years old.

The Hip Hop Film Festival its month-long run with a week jam packed with celebrity events and cyphers. BET’s Big Fifty screening will close out this year’s festival on September 2, at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Brooklyn. Directed by media personality, writer, and film director Russ Parr, Big Fifty tells the unbelievable true story of bigger-than-life Delrhonda Big Fifty Hood, who went from street thug to respected gangsta to finding redemption. Big Fifty stars Remy Ma, Durrell Tank Burbs, Ta’Rhonda Jones, Debbi Morgan, Mike Merrill, Vena Excell (aka Pretty Vee) and Michael Anthony.
The selection is complete for the Virtual Reality works of the 78th Venice International Film Festival. The Venice VR Expanded will again be held online September 1-19. From September 1-11 the Venice VR Expanded Program will be available on site for accredited festival guests, at the VR Gallery in the Palazzo del Casinò (Lido di Venezia), Sala Amici, upon reservation.
Scared To Debt: Sallie Mae Not, chapter one of a feature documentary film by Michael Camoin, takes an investigative and historical look into public and private issued student loans and the debt crisis facing more than 45 million American borrowers today. Sallie Mae Not premieres virtually on July 26 at 1:00 pm on Film Festival Flix Livestream presented by the Whistleblower Summit and Film Festival taking place July 23 through August 1.
The Harlem Film House’s sixth annual Hip Hop Film Festival will offer film screenings, live block parties, rap battles, master classes known as Master Cyphers, and more. The festival takes place August 1 through September 3, with in-person events at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Downtown Brooklyn, live events on 247films.tv, and in the Harlem Film House VR Metaverse. The opening night Art of the Score pre-festival event, to be held August 1, will feature hip hop legend Chuck D of Public Enemy.
For the fifteenth time, Christies is the projection technology partner for the Cannes Film Festival, which began today and runs through July 17. It will be the first in-person edition of the Cannes Film Festival since 2019, and Christie will provide installation and show support for the occasion.
Poser, the debut film of directing partners Ori Segev and Noah Dixon, is a music-driven psychodrama about obsession, and the need to fit in and be a part of something. The film was selected to compete in the Tribeca Film Festival’s 2021 US Narrative Competition and made its world premiere there June 10th. The creative team of Adam Robl and Shawn Sutta composed the film’s score.
Christie Digital Systems is once again the technology partner of the Lavazza Drive-In Film Festival, co-hosted by the Italian Contemporary Film Festival and taking place at Toronto’s Ontario Place from June 27-July 17.
