Göteborg Film Festival Returning with Live Screening

The Nordic region's largest film festival is happy to return to the cinemas in Göteborg next year. Due to the pandemic, the 2021 edition of Göteborg Film Festival became a digital event. The digital edition turned out to be a great audience success with visitors from all over the country. Therefore, Göteborg Film Festival 2022 will show films both in cinemas and online from January 28 through February 6, 2022.

Young Animator of the Year UK Award Winners Named

The winners of this year’s Young Animator of the Year UK award have been announced by Access:VFX, the ScreenSkills Animation Fund and #Dami. Through its awards program, YAY UK aims to provide aspiring animators from a range of backgrounds with access to and advice from professionals and studios in the animation, games and visual effects industry. The winning work will premiere at the Manchester Animation Festival, which runs November 14-19.

Goldcrest Supports Five Films in Doc NYC Film Festival

Goldcrest Post provided final color grading and editorial finishing for five films screening at next month’s Doc NYC fest. They include three world premieres and two films making their New York City premieres. The largest documentary film festival in the country, Doc NYC 2021 will feature in-person screenings November 10-18 and will continue online through November 28.

Christie Projector Chosen for BFI London Film Festival

Christie’s CP4440-RGB projector is being used as the flagship projection technology at the 65th annual British Film Institute’s London Film Festival, running now through October 17. For the first time the event will be held at the prestigious Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall on the south bank of the Thames, where the concert hall will be turned into the main festival gala cinema. With a seating capacity for 2,200 cinema goers, it will become one of the largest cinema experiences in the country.

DTLA Now Accepting Films for Submission

The Downtown Los Angeles Film Festival is now accepting submissions for all genres of films as well as narrative feature, short film and TV pilot screenplays for its 13th annual edition to be held September 7-11, 2022, at Regal L.A. Live cinemas. Known for its wide-ranging content and commitment to diversity, the festival has shown more than a thousand features, documentaries, shorts, and other motion pictures over the past decade-plus.

AAM Renews Partnership with San Sebastian International Film Festival

Arts Alliance Media and the San Sebastian International Film Festival in Spain have renewed their software partnership for the seventh consecutive event, enabling AAM’s Producer and Screenwriter theatre solutions to manage all the festival’s content and scheduling for its 2021 edition. The festival is on now through September 25.
