The Ymagis Group has installed its first screen in the United States and its 100th cinema auditorium overall with EclairColor high dynamic range at the Alamo Drafthouse cinema in Austin, Texas. The 100 EclairColor screens are currently located across Germany (47) and France (46), the United Kingdom (3), Italy (1), Switzerland (1), Tunisia (1) and the USA (1).
Ymagis Group will showcase EclairColor HDR cinema technology at the upcoming Fédération Nationale des Cinémas Français convention in Deauville, France. Two special presentations will take place at the Centre International de Deauville’s Michel d’Ornano Auditorium on September 26 and 27. Technical presentations of the technology will be also held. Offering more than 50 new features, version 5.0 has been used over the last year on a variety of real projects with complex workflows. According to the company, the feedback from colorists around the world has been very positive.
CinemaNext today announced the official opening of its North American offices in Irving, Texas, conveniently located next to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. The new facility boasts a 12-seat screening room equipped with EclairColor HDR technology as well as a showroom with digital equipment and solutions on display, office space, conference rooms, customer service/NOC and a warehouse.

Samsung Electronics today announced that it has installed its first commercial Cinema LED Screen at Lotte Cinema World Tower in Korea. The high dynamic range display is the result of collaboration between Harman Professional Solutions and Samsung Audio Lab.
Éclair and EuropaCorp have announced that Luc Besson’s latest film, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, will be available in ÉclairColor and in 2D in select cinemas in France July 26 and in Germany July 20, via Universum Films.
Netflix this week committed to streaming its movies in both Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision high-dynamic range formats. It is the first global on-demand service to commit to combining both formats. Okja, the critically praised Netflix Original Film, is the first film available in both formats. Additional Dolby-supported titles are coming soon, and the catalog will continue to grow. Okja will be released to select movie theatres this week as well. Netflix has raised the stakes again.
