Nite Owl Theatre has created a laser projection drive-in cinema experience in the heart of Miami, Florida. Featuring a 53-foot screen, the Knight Foundation-backed theatre can accommodate between 65-70 cars per screening. Showbiz Cinemas is pleased to announce that the Ballarat Showgrounds in Wendouree, Australia will soon be home to the first local drive-in cinema operation since the closure of the Southern Drive-In Theatre in 1991. The retro initiative will operate each weekend for at least six-months from November 13.
The Rooftop Cinema Club partnered with Ultimate Outdoor Entertainment to create the Drive-In at Armature Works in Tampa, Florida. Earlier this year, UOE began providing Rooftop with the screens, technology and equipment to add drive-in movies to their rooftop cinema experiences. Last week’s grand opening featured Grease. The Tampa location is the third venue UOE and Rooftop have partnered on; several more locations are expected by Spring 2021.
