Danny Schmidt is an award-winning director, producer, and cinematographer whose work in wildlife documentaries has taken him to the most remote and forbidding parts of the globe in search of its most elusive creatures. In one of his latest projects, Schmidt served as cinematographer on Path of the Panther, a feature-length documentary directed by Eric Bendick and produced by Carlton Ward, Jr for National Geographic.

In October 1948, Jesse Brown became the first African American to complete the U.S. Navy’s flight training program and received his Naval Aviator Badge. The feature Devotion, directed by J.D. Dillard and based on the bestselling book by Adam Makos, recounts the true story of Brown’s distinguished service, focusing on the year 1950, at the onset of the Korean War, when he and his fellow pilots in Fighter Squadron 32 deployed aboard the aircraft carrier USS Leyte, first to the Mediterranean Sea and then to the East Sea, off the coast of North Korea.

Teradek and Sony Electronics have announced an integration that will provide productions in the cine and broadcast markets with greater flexibility in camera-to-cloud workflows. Sony’s Ci Media Cloud will natively integrate with Serv 4K and Prism Flex, Teradek’s 4K high dynamic range encoding systems. Now, any camera used on-set, in-studio, or remotely will be able to upload footage to Ci directly from Teradek’s encoders.
