Everest Documentary Restored

Twenty-five years after it debuted to wide critical and popular acclaim, the award-winning documentary Everest is back in giant-screen theatres. MacGillivray Freeman Films, producers of Everest, spent months completing an all-new 16K restoration of the film for a special digitally remastered release.

MTI Film recently completed an all-new 4K restoration of director Lewis Milestone’s 1931 film The Front Page. The months-long project was conducted for The Academy Film Archive and The Film Foundation, with MTI Film’s restoration team working under the direction of AFA director Michael Pogorzelski and film preservationist Heather Linville.

MTI Film Restores The Power and the Glory

MTI Film, Hollywood recently completed the restoration of 20th Century Fox’s 1933 classic The Power and the Glory. The restored version of the film is currently submitted for a 2016 Focal International Award for Best Archive Restoration and Preservation Project. Directed by William K. Howard, The Power and the Glory tells the story of a ruthless railroad tycoon who works his way up from track walker to president of the company. The film is notable for a strong performance from a 33-year-old Spencer Tracy and for its script, the first produced by Preston Sturges.
