Cineplex Expands Immersive Seat Deal with CJ 4DPlex

Cineplex and CJ 4DPlex today announced a new agreement that will bring the 4DX experience to as many as 13 additional Cineplex locations across Canada over the coming years. The companies opened Canada’s first 4D auditorium at Cineplex Cinemas Yonge-Dundas and VIP in the heart of downtown Toronto, Ontario, in 2016, and its popularity with guests has prompted this new partnership and investment.

Screenvision Media has teamed up with Xbox to announce the national debut of two new cinematics that utilize immersive MX4D technology in select theatres. Xbox's advertisements will support the October 2 launch of open-world racing game Forza Horizon 4 and Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft's gaming membership. They are the first ads to utilize this technology to provide moviegoers a seat shifting, heart racing advertising experience.

D-Box Signs New Deal with Link Digital Cinema

Link Digital Cinema China Technology, Beijing has signed an agreement to purchase additional D-Box motion systems in an effort to meet the growing demand for premium entertainment experiences. In a previous agreement, Link China installed seven D-Box screens for key locations across the country. With this new contract, D-Box is expected to install many more screens before the end of the year with some already in the installation process.

Avengers: Infinity War Sets 4DX Records

According to CJ 4DPlex, the new film Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War has been seen in the 4DX immersive seating format by more than two million people across 59 countries. This breaks the record for highest-attendance 4DX film to date. The milestone also makes Avengers: Infinity War the most successful film released in the format, surpassing the previous record holder, 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Kinopolis Adding D-Box Seats to Eighteen Screens

Kinopolis, Germany’s largest independent cinema operator, is adding D-Box motion seats to 18 new screens throughout the Germany. Currently, Kinopolis offers D-Box motion technology on nine screens in Main-Taunus, Darmstadt and Rhein-Neckar. The motion seats will be added to screens in Hanau, Gießen, Rosenheim, Aschaffenburg, Bonn - Bad Godesberg and Koblenz. This brings the total number of D-Box screens with Kinopolis to 27.
