CJ 4DPlex has signed a binding memorandum of understanding for a partnership with Golden Screen Cinemas in Malaysia, as well as a new agreement with PVR Cinemas. This will bring a 4DX theater to the GSC Paradigm Mall Johor Bahru location by the end of 2017.
Kitag Cinemas, the largest exhibitor in German-speaking Switzerland, is installing CJ 4DPlex’s 4DX cinema seating in its theatre in Abaton Zurich. Kitag Cinemas has 85 screens and 17,000 seats at the following locations: Basel, Bern, Biel, Lucerne, Emmenbrück/LU, St. Gallen, Abtwil/SG, Winterthur and Zurich. The Zurich theatre has 12 auditoriums with a total of 1,759 seats. The 4DX screen is scheduled to open before the end of the year.

Australia’s Village Cinemas has opened that country’s first theatre with immersive seating from CJ 4DPlex. With this opening, 4DX seating is now available in theatres in 50 countries spread over six continents.
The Guitammer Company and Moving Image Technologies have entered into a distribution agreement for sales of Guitammer’s ButtKicker Cinema System to select regional cinema exhibitors in North, Central and South America.
FLiK Cinemas has selected Destiny Seating and Volfoni to equip their new platinum-class multiplexes. Volfoni partnered with Destiny Seating to supply FLiK Cinemas with their 3D hardware systems. FLiK Cinemas has recently completed the first platinum-class and gold-class multiplex in the Gulf Cooperation region, which comprises the energy rich Gulf monarchies Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
CJ 4DPlex today announced that Kinepolis is set to open four 4DX theatres by the end of the year. Kinepolis will open 4DX theatres at its cinemas in Antwerp and Brussels (Belgium), Lomme (France) and Madrid (Spain). The first film that Kinepolis will show in 4DX is still to be confirmed.
El Rey Network’s lucha libre wrestling series Lucha Underground will be the first U.S. television series to screen in the immersive CJ 4DPlex 4DX seating format. Ultima Lucha Tres – Part IV, the season three finale, will screen at a private event for media and fans in the 4DX auditorium at the Regal L.A. Live Stadium 14 October 17.
Ster-Kinekor, the largest cinema exhibitor on the African continent, is installing D-Box motion seats in four auditoriums in Johannesburg (Rosebank Mall and Mall of Africa), Cape Town (Cavendish Square), and Durban (Gateway Shopping Mall).
Ferco Seating Systems has entered into an exclusive agreement to sell Guitammer’s ButtKicker Cinema System in Japan, Hong Kong Australia, New Zealand, South East Asia, and for select exhibitors in the Middle East. The company also announced that it has sold the system to Legend Cinema in Cambodia
