Nagra, a Kudelski Group company, has launched a new forensic watermarking plug-in for editing and collaboration workflows on Avid's Media Composer video editing software. The NexGuard Plug-in for Editing Software allows studios, content owners and post-production houses to ensure protection of high-value assets when sharing pre-release content such as feature films or TV series with their editing department, reviewers or their creative agencies.

Rock Documentary to Open Tribeca Film Festival

Jimmy Carter: Rock & Roll President, the new feature documentary from Grammy Award-winning director Mary Wharton, producer Chris Farrell and writer Bill Flanagan, will make its world premiere April 15 as it opens the 19th Tribeca Film Festival in New York. The rockumentary-flavored film, which went through post-production finishing at Sim Post New York, centers on the 39th president’s life-long passion for music and rock’s contribution to his unlikely journey from a peanut farm in Georgia to the White House.

Two Dum Micks, an offbeat comedic short film, written, directed, and produced by D.B. Sweeney and edited by Keith Kristinat at The Colonie in Chicago, has won more than two-dozen first-place film festival awards to date. It tells the story of Mikey and Mick, played by Sean Astin and Sweeney, as two down-and-out guys who come up with an implausible jailhouse scheme to get the money they need to solve their legal problems.

Clas Hakeröd and Nikolai Waldman, two highly experienced and trusted names within the industry, started the company in 2015. For the past 20 years they have been producing and post-producing commercials, features, corporate films, documentaries and TV series, like The girl who played with fire, Olympic Games, Saltön, Ettor & nollor, Americas Cup, Uppdrag Granskning, Volvo, IKEA and many more. Recently, Waldman branched out to start the company DejaSoft and develop the editing software tool DejaEdit. Digital Cinema Report spoke with him about how DejaEdit came to be.

Editing The Perfect Patient

Film editor Rickard Krantz was part of the creative team that worked on the movie The Perfect Patient (Swedish title: Quick), which was nominated for Sweden’s prestigious Guldbagge award for editing. The film was also selected as one of Sweden’s three finalists for submission to the 92nd Academy Awards in 2019

Visual Data Media Services Opens 4K Screening Room

Visual Data Media Services, the West London provider of digital supply chain services to global content owners and distributors, has announced the opening of a new digital screening room. The new facility is fully 4K and Dolby Atmos capable and comprises a 10-seat theatre built around a NEC 4K projector and fed by a Doremi digital cinema server. A Dolby Atmos CP950 sound processor is linked to JBL speakers and Crown amplifiers.
