Pixvana Raises $6 Million to Bring VR Video Cloud Production, Delivery Platform to Market

Pixvana, a virtual reality technology startup, has launched today with a $6 million investment led by Madrona Venture Group with participation from Paul Allen's Vulcan Capital, and angel investors. Pixvana is developing a cloud-based technology platform that dramatically improves the immersive video viewing experience for VR and augmented reality applications across a broad set of viewing devices. The company plans to bring it to market in 2016.

Forscene Deployed Across Leftfield Entertainment Group

U.S.-based Leftfield Entertainment has chosen to deploy Forbidden’s Forscene across its group of production companies to provide a flexible and efficient post-production solution. The purchase comes after the cloud-based post-production platform was tested on the series Football Town. Forscene provided remote access to media, allowing producers in the field to collaborate with the post-production team back at base, expediting media processing and ingest as well as transcription.
