Supercines Installs Ecuador’s First Laser Projectors

Supercines, Ecuador’s leading cinema chain, has opened a new eight-screen multiplex in the Ambato shopping mall equipped with Christie Vive Audio and Christie RGB pure laser cinema projectors, the first of their kind in the country. The multiplex lobby also uses 60 Christie Access LCD panels to advertise upcoming movies and promotions.

Lido Cinema Upgrades its Sound System

Established in the 1920s, the Lido Cinema in Auckland is one of New Zealand’s oldest and most prestigious cinemas. Originally opened as a single-screen art house cinema, the Lido expanded with a second 44-seat capacity theater known as The Lounge in 2005. The Lido recently decided to upgrade the aging 5.1 sound system in The Lounge.

Sree Kalidas M-Plex Installs Christie Projection, ViveAudio

Sree Kalidas M-Plex has become the first cinema complex in the southern Indian state of Kerala to install cinema projectors featuring Christie RealLaser illumination and ViveAudio. Located in the capital city of Thiruvananthapuram, the newly completed multiplex has seven auditoriums. Christie’s Indian partner TSR handled the installation.

CinemaNext Upgrades Neocine Thader in Murcia, Spain

European cinema exhibitor services provider CinemaNext, today announced the completion of its first fourth generation laser-powered 4K RGB projection system installation at the Neocine cinema in the Thader shopping mall in Murcia, Spain. The SP4K-25 Barco projector with Alchemy server setup at Neocine marks a European first by CinemaNext and its Valencia-based services center since Cinionic began selling the new Barco series 4 platform in April.

CinemaNext Upgrades Omniplex Cinema Group’s Barco Projectors

CinemaNext UK and Omniplex Cinema Group, Ireland’s largest cinema circuit, today announced the signing of an agreement for the sale and roll out of RGB+ Laser-light source upgrades and light engine clean for Barco projectors in 29 Omniplex auditoriums. The roll out across 24 Omniplex cinemas in Ireland and Northern Ireland will take place through the second half of 2019 and adds to the 2018 upgrade to laser of 15 of Omniplex’s largest screens.

CinemaNext, French Cinema Exhibitor Megarama Announce Major Deal for Barco Laser Projectors

CinemaNext and French cinema circuit Megarama today announced a large-scale agreement for the sale and installation of a minimum of 110 Barco Laser projectors at 15 of the circuit’s current sites and upcoming new cinema builds through 2021. Per the agreement, CinemaNext will oversee the replacement of Series 1 digital projectors in all Megarama-branded cinemas located in France, Spain and Morocco.

Les Cinémas Pathé Gaumont Installs NEC Laser Projectors

Les Cinémas Pathé Gaumont selected NEC to provide a total of 13 laser projectors in its new theatre in La Joliette, Marseille. French cinema system integrator ADDE installed three NC3541L 4K RB laser projectors, designed for premium and large format screens, three NC2041L RB laser projectors, and seven NC1700L RB laser projectors for mid-sized screens, along with a range of lens options.
