CinemaNext has been chosen by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts to be its official projection and sound supplier and integrator. Located in London, BAFTA’s home has recently undergone a major refurbishment. Due to officially open in 2022, it will be a creative center for film, games and television and the central hub for the Academy’s UK-wide, and global, learning and talent development programs.
Arena Cinemas, Switzerland, has converted 58 screens across all its locations to GDC’s Cinema Automation 2.0 technology. The installations and further developments in the whole complex cinema ecosystem were managed by leading systems integrator Imaculix, based in Zurich, Switzerland.

The 300,000 square foot campus of the Academy Museum is the largest institution in the United States devoted to the arts, sciences, and artists of moviemaking.
Severtson Screens has introduced a cinema screen price estimator for its dealer base. The tool is available via Severtson Screens’ website as well as a mobile app for Apple iOS and Android Smartphones.
D-Box Technologies and Ecco Cine Supply and Service are installing D-Box haptic seats and recliners, at five different locations in Germany. The installations should be completed by the end of September.
Leading Russian cinema operator Karo will open ten Karo: New Generation locations with developer ADG over the next 10 months, with the first to open on November 15. Another six locations are slated to open by the end of the year. The remaining Karo: New Generation multiplexes will open in Russian regional cities — in collaboration with other real estate partners — beginning in the second quarter of 2022, with further large-scale expansion planned through 2024.
CES+ has installed remote services and digital cinema technologies at the movie chain CineXT’s theatres in Manta and Quito, Ecuador.
