Sony Pictures has announced that Spider-Man: Far From Home will be released in the 270-degree panoramic ScreenX format on July 2nd. It marks the first Sony Pictures film to be converted into ScreenX. Previously Sony Pictures released Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in 4DX, another immersive cinema technology from CJ 4DPlex. The new Spider-Man will also be available in 4DX.
Known for its unparalleled customer service, durable gliders and comfortable recliners, Atom Seating will feature some of the most popular choices from its “Periodic Table” of cinema seating at CineEurope June 16-20 at the Barcelona International Convention Centre in Barcelona, Spain. On display for European cinema business owners will be the Atom Seating Helium and Neon VIP recliners and the Tungsten and Titanium gliders.
B&B Theatres, the sixth largest theatre chain in North America has added four ScreenX theatres and 10 Grand Screen premium large format rooms, bringing to 29 the total number of auditoriums with DTS:X sound. The installations were part of DTS’s partnership with GDC Technology.

Kinopolis Gruppe today announced that it has opened Germany’s first Dolby Cinema at the renowned Mathäser Palast in Munich. In addition, the Dolby Cinema at Mathäser will have its own entrance as well as a lounge area for film fans to enjoy the refreshments and beverages that will be on offer in a VIP style lounge.
CinemaNext has completed the installation of Pathé Switzerland’s brand-new Pathé Spreitenbach multiplex, located near Zurich. Open to the public since May 9, the 10-screen cinema complex (1,322 seats) has been equipped by CinemaNext Switzerland with 4K laser phosphor projection, Dolby Surround 7.1 and three Dolby Atmos-enabled screens.
In the wake of one of the movie industry’s most successful years, executives from Screenvision Media took the stage at New York’s historic Ziegfeld Theatre to extol the many virtues of cinema advertising to a roomful of ad professionals. The theme of this year’s Upfront event was Big Screens – Big Impact. During the event, Screenvision renewed its 10 Pack option for another year, unveiled a Smart Network that enables advertisers to better track the effectiveness of their campaigns, and announced programs advocating for more inclusion of women in the motion picture industry.
Cinionic has expanded its relationship with one of India’s fastest growing theater chains, Miraj Cinemas, and will upgrade Miraj’s fleet of theaters with Barco Smart and Flagship Laser projectors. In all 60 screens across 20 Miraj Cinemas’ Multiplexes will be upgraded including its Miraj Maximum, the largest movie theater screen in Delhi.
