Vista Group International has announced that Kimbal Riley will take over as group CEO from Murray Holdaway. Holdaway will take up the position of chief product officer and will continue in his role as an executive director on the Vista Group board. This has taken place as part of a succession planning process. The transition takes effect April 3.

MoviePass has signed a media partnership with iHeartMedia, a leading U.S. multi-media company. The new agreement includes an extensive marketing campaign across iHeartMedia’s multiplatform network including radio, digital, social and live events to help build further brand awareness of MoviePass and target new subscribers in select U.S. metro markets that have active movie-going audiences. In addition, iHeartMedia will be an authorized reseller of ad inventory across the MoviePass website and mobile app.
IMAX and CJ CGV today announced a sales agreement for four new IMAX theatres to be added to existing and new multiplexes in Turkey. The theatres will be operated by CJ CGV subsidiary, Mars Entertainment Group, operator of the largest cinema circuit in Turkey. The agreement brings to 133 the exhibitor’s total IMAX commitment with theatres in South Korea, China, Vietnam and Turkey.
Less than 30 days after announcing its milestone of one million subscribers, MoviePass announced today that it has added another 500,000 new paying subscribers since December 12, 2017. MoviePass is a majority-owned subsidiary of Helios and Matheson Analytics.
Brazilian exhibitor Spcine, which is focused on bringing cinemas to low-income areas in São Paulo, has deployed Christie digital cinema projection systems in its 20 recently opened theatres in the city. The installation was carried out by Christie partner Seal Telecom.
