Filmhouse Cinemas has announced that it will roll out Vista Cinema software across all ten of their cinema sites, comprising 43 screens in total, located throughout Nigeria. The project will commence immediately and is due to be completed by the end of the year. Filmhouse Cinemas holds the largest cinema exhibition market share in Nigeria and operates the only IMAX site in West Africa.
Muvix, Chile’s newest multiplex chain, has signed an agreement to equip 40 theatres throughout the country with Christie’s digital cinema projectors over the next three years. The Muvix brand is a new one belonging to the Syem Group, a family-run enterprise operating in the cinema exhibition sector in Chile under Cine Star, which has four multiplexes in Chile and is the country’s only chain owned by Chilean capital.

The company says this will allow Sonic to increase business efficiencies and provide superior customer support. For the past two years, Sonic and CE+S assisted each other with field services. Cinema West Veranda Luxe Cinema is the first cinema complex to fully integrate all Dolby technologies for an immersive Dolby Atmos audio experience across a total of nine screens. Located in Concord, California, the complex has a grand opening scheduled for December.
MoviePass surpassed the mark of 600,000 paying monthly subscribers as of October 18, up from approximately 20,000 as of August 14, the day before MoviePass announced its new $9.95 per month subscription price. The continued growth trajectory exceeded MoviePass’ initial projections, and now MoviePass projects that it will acquire at least 3.1 million additional paying subscribers by next August, exceeding its previous estimate of 2.5 million subscribers.
Les Cinémas Gaumont Pathé, the largest cinema chain operator in France, the Netherlands, and Switzerland, has installed Dolby Cinema at Pathé Massy, south of Paris, and will open today. This marks the first Dolby Cinema in France, with Pathé Vaise in Lyon and Pathé Docks 76 in Rouen opening later this year.
