Deluxe in Talks to Acquire Éclair
Deluxe and JMS Group announced today that they have entered into exclusive discussions to finalize the acquisition by Deluxe of Europe based Éclair Theatrical Services, a provider of cinema services including mastering and electronic delivery to content production studios and distributors controlled by JMS. Financial terms were not disclosed. Deluxe is a portfolio company of Platinum Equity.
Sony Commits to Fifteen ScreenX Films
CJ 4DPlex and Sony Pictures Entertainment today announced a multi-picture, multi-year deal adding up to 15 films over three years to play on CJ 4DPlex's immersive, panoramic, 270-degree viewing experience ScreenX. The deal begins with Venom: Let There Be Carnage in September, that will play in more than 350 ScreenX auditoriums across the country and around the world.

Moving Image Technologies has been awarded a contract from Alamo Drafthouse Cinema to provide equipment and furnishings for its Alamo theatre location in Staten Island, New York. The award follows a recently announced contract from an Alamo Drafthouse franchisee for a new theatre in Washington, D.C.

World Wrestling Entertainment is set to air its annual SummerSlam pay-per-view in movie theatres nationwide for the first time. The Independent Cinema Alliance’s board of directors has named Rich Daughtridge ICA’s new president. Daughtridge, who is president and CEO of Maryland-based Warehouse Cinemas and a member of the ICA board, succeeds Byron Berkley, who retired June 30.

Timewaying Moves from 3D to LED
Earlier this month, the Chinese manufacturer Timewaying Technology announced that its LA2K-10 LED Cinema System had passed the DCI Compliance Test Plan. Timewaying is the largest 3D equipment supplier for the Chinese market, with more than 30,000 3D systems installed among 11,000 cinema sites across China.
