Blockchain Company Takes Equity Position in MoviePass

Sui Foundation, the smart contract platform and Layer 1 blockchain, today announced a partnership with MoviePass at Token2049 in Singapore. Sui Foundation is also taking an equity stake in MoviePass as part of the agreement. MoviePass says it is the leading movie subscription platform focused currently on the US market, and recently featured in the HBO documentary MoviePass, MovieCrash. MoviePass relaunched in 2023 and says it achieved profitability that same year.

Trafalgar Releasing to Distribute Tears for Fears Concert Film

The iconic British duo Tears for Fears have announced their first-ever official live album, Songs for A Nervous Planet, which is set for release on October 25. The album includes four brand-new studio tracks. Along with the album, they’ve announced a concert film shot and recorded at the scenic FirstBank Amphitheater at Graystone Quarry in Franklin, Tennessee, during their sold-out global Tipping Point Tour Part 2. Tears for Fears Live (A Tipping Point Film) will be distributed in cinemas worldwide via Trafalgar Releasing.

Clint Eastwood’s Juror #2 to Close 38th AFI Fest

The American Film Institute has announced that the world premiere of Clint Eastwood’s Juror #2 will close the 38th edition of AFI Fest presented by Canva. The Warner Bros. Pictures film stars Nicholas Hoult, Toni Collette, J.K. Simmons, Chris Messina, Gabriel Basso, Zoey Deutch, Cedric Yarbrough, Leslie Bibb and Kiefer Sutherland. It will screen at the historic TCL Chinese Theatre on October 27.
