Imax Corporation has named entertainment marketing executive Anne Globe as chief marketing officer. In her role, Globe will oversee all brand, film marketing, creative, and social media for the global entertainment technology platform. Previously, Globe served as CMO of Skydance Media, as well as DreamWorks Animation.
The Motion Picture Sound Editors association today announced the nominees for the 71st Annual MPSE Golden Reel Awards. Nominees represent the work of the world’s most talented sound artists and their contributions to the past year’s most outstanding feature film, television, animation, computer entertainment, and student productions.
The American Society of Cinematographers has announced its 2024 Outstanding Achievement Award nominees in feature film, documentary, television, and music video categories. Winners will be announced during the 38th Annual ASC Awards ceremony on March 3, at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, known for the Oscars, has bestowed the Barco team with the Scientific and Engineering Academy Award for their contribution to the design and development of laser projection in cinema. The Academy’s Scientific and Technical Awards honor individuals and companies whose discoveries and innovations have contributed in significant and lasting ways to motion pictures.
Goldcrest Post has named Sean Dunckley senior colorist. A highly accomplished post-production veteran, Dunckley brings more than 130 credits spanning features, streaming and broadcast. Recent projects include MGM’s critically acclaimed feature Bottoms, the Max Original crime thriller Tokyo Vice and the Apple TV+ teen comedy Dickinson. At Goldcrest, he will focus on high quality studio and independent features, streaming productions, and broadcast series.

The Motion Picture Sound Editors trade group has elected David Barber, MPSE, to a two-year term as president. Barber succeeds Mark Lanza, MPSE, who reached his term limit. Additionally, Miguel Araujo was re-elected as secretary, while Eric Marks was appointed to fill Barber’s previous post as vice president on an interim basis until the next board election in October. Chris Reeves and Solange Schwalbe continue in their roles as treasurer and sergeant at arms, respectively.
Four awards will be presented by the Association of Moving Image Archivists at its annual meeting organization to individuals and organizations who have demonstrated exceptional work in the areas of preservation. The awards will be presented during AMIA’s online meeting December 18.
After 18 years, Kelly Germain has announced she will depart her role as director of communications and membership of the Giant Screen Cinema Association effective December 31 to explore new opportunities and challenges.
