AMC General Counsel Kevin Connor Retiring

AMC has announced that following a 23-year career at the company as senior vice president, general counsel & secretary, Kevin Connor will retire, effective March 13. AMC has appointed Edwin Gladbach, currently vice president, legal, as vice president, interim general counsel and secretary. The company will decide on the selection of its long-term general counsel later in the year, with both internal and external candidates being considered.

SOC Announces Camera Operators of the Year in Film and Television

The Society of Camera Operators has announced the recipients of Camera Operator of the Year in Film and Television during the 2025 SOC Lifetime Achievement Awards at the Loews Hollywood Hotel. The recipient of Camera Operator of the Year in Film is P. Scott Sakamoto, SOC, for A Complete Unknown. Camera Operator of the Year in Television recipients are Scott Dropkin, SOC, for Yellowstone, S5E14 Life is a Promise with Abby Linne, SOC, B Camera Operator, and Jed Seus C Camera Operator.

Regal Cineworld Group Names Rymer Chief Commercial Officer US

Regal Cineworld Group today announced the appointment of Adam Rymer to the newly created role of chief commercial officer US. Rymer has 20 plus years working in technology, media, and entertainment. He will be responsible for leading the strategy and execution of food and beverage, box office, pricing, sales, loyalty and marketing for Regal. In addition, he will oversee the company's US film and content team. The announcement was made by Eduardo Acuna, chief executive officer for Regal Cineworld Group, to whom he will report.

Shooting The Last Showgirl

In director Gia Coppola’s feature film, The Last Showgirl, Pamela Anderson stars as Shelly, a veteran Las Vegas dancer suddenly facing an unknown future when her long-running show comes to an abrupt end. The production reunited Coppola with her longtime collaborator Autumn Durald Arkapaw, ASC following their previous collaborations on projects that include the features Palo Alto and Mainstream. For their intimate portrait of Anderson’s character in The Last Showgirl, Coppola and Durald Arkapaw embraced the super 16mm film format, working with Panavision Woodland Hills for their lens and camera package. AMC Promotes Nikkole Denson-Randolph; Elizabeth Frank Now RealD CEO

AMC Entertainment Holdings today announced the promotion of Nikkole Denson-Randolph to the role of senior vice president, U.S. chief content officer. In her new role, Denson-Randolph will now oversee AMC’s U.S. film programming, content acquisition, and movie strategy initiatives, along with AMC’s studio and creative community relationships. Denson-Randolph will be based in Los Angeles. She will report directly to AMC Chairman and CEO Adam Aron, and she will serve on AMC’s Executive Committee. This leadership transition coincides with the departure of Elizabeth Frank, AMC’s long-time head of worldwide programming and chief content officer. Frank will assume the role of chief executive officer of RealD AMC’s largest 3D partner.

MPEG Names Threinen EVP Distribution and Theatre Development

The Mission Partners Entertainment Group has announced that Derek Threinen, a 25-year documentary film veteran, has joined the company as executive vice president, film distribution and theatre development. In this role, Threinen will lead the company’s film distribution strategies and manage the expansion of its theatre network.
