Finnish Government Proposes 25 Percent Film & TV Cash Rebate

The Finnish government September 1 announced the decision to push forward a cash rebate incentive model after concluding the annual workshop between government members in which the state budget is balanced. After this, the state budget will receive its final approval from the Parliament, but generally the decisions taken in the workshop (budjettiriihi) hold the parliament stamp.

FuseFX Unveils New LA Flagship Facility

FuseFX, which has helped lead the resurgence of visual effects production in Los Angeles, has moved its headquarters to a 27,000 square foot facility on Califa Street in the Sherman Oaks area of Los Angeles. Comprising two contiguous free-standing structures, the new site can accommodate the company’s current 150-person Southern California staff, and features scores of visual effects workstations, four screening rooms, a 4K infrastructure, dedicated broadband connections to operations in New York and Vancouver, and room for further growth.

The Mill Blackbird Wins HPA Creativity and Innovation Award

The Hollywood Professional Association has awarded its prestigious Judges Award for Creativity and Innovation to The Mill Blackbird. Created by The Mill, the Blackbird is the first fully adjustable car rig that creates photorealistic CG cars. The coveted honor will be bestowed November 17, 2016 at the 11th annual HPA Awards gala at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, California.
