The Event Cinema Association will host its first annual overseas convention October 14 in Stockholm, Sweden. Held at the Bio Rio cinema in central Stockholm and organized by the ECA’s partners Folkets Hus och Parker, the event intends to shed light on the Nordic region, celebrate it successes and learn from its achievements.
Glitter Tribe is an entertaining new documentary that follows a wide variety of burlesque dancers as they perform at their home theater in Portland Oregon. Directed by Jon Manning and produced by Manning and Julie Livingston, co-produced by Miriam Garcia, the film seeks to give the viewer an in depth look into the lives of these modern neo burlesque dancers and the motivation behind their lurid, exciting, and occasionally dangerous acts.

The newly branded Cleveland Clinic Dome Theater at Great Lakes Science Center is about to receive a serious projection upgrade – the world’s first giant dome cinema laser system. The theater re-launch, complete with new seats and carpet, is set to open to the public in October. D3D Cinema, in partnership with Christie, is handling the installation.

The movie box office in Brazil increased by ten percent from January to the first week of August, according to regulatory agency Ancine. The audience grew from 113.9 million to 125.4 million in one year’s time, the agency said.
The motion picture business in China is one of, if not, the fastest growing in the world. By one estimate, there were some 31,000 screens in China by the end of 2015 and that number is expected to exceed 40,000 by the end of this year. 3 Weeks in Yerevan, a new comedy by the Award-winning collaboration of writer-director Vahe Berberian and producer-co-director Vahik Pirhamzei, will have its North American premiere September 14 at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood. Sponsored by the Analysis Research Planning for Armenia Foundation, the premiere will feature a post-screening Q&A with the film's three leading men Berberian, Pirhamzei (who also star in the film), and actor-comedian Hrant Tokhatyan.
