Genesis Cinemas in Nigeria has announced plans to equip six of its auditoriums with the ScreenX multi-screen format from CJ 4DPlex. Genesis Cinemas is the leading cinema chain of West Africa with nine locations, 35 screens and over 3,400 seats in operation across Nigeria.

Land Rover has launched an exclusive cinema advertising campaign with Spotlight Cinema Networks to promote the new Range Rover Evoque. The cinema-advertising campaign launched June 28 and will run through the beginning of August in Spotlight’s network of theatres across the country. The creative will appear within Spotlight’s exclusive Trailer Pod.
CinemaNext UK and Omniplex Cinema Group, Ireland’s largest cinema circuit, today announced the signing of an agreement for the sale and roll out of RGB+ Laser-light source upgrades and light engine clean for Barco projectors in 29 Omniplex auditoriums. The roll out across 24 Omniplex cinemas in Ireland and Northern Ireland will take place through the second half of 2019 and adds to the 2018 upgrade to laser of 15 of Omniplex’s largest screens.
Éclair has hired Christophe Massie as the new head of its preservation division, effective immediately. An alliance has also been struck with Massie’s conservation and media management company, Orfeo. Under the agreement, Orfeo benefits from Éclair’s European sales and business services and relocates from its current premises to Éclair’s Paris-Vanves and Auxerre locations.
CinemaNext and French cinema circuit Megarama today announced a large-scale agreement for the sale and installation of a minimum of 110 Barco Laser projectors at 15 of the circuit’s current sites and upcoming new cinema builds through 2021. Per the agreement, CinemaNext will oversee the replacement of Series 1 digital projectors in all Megarama-branded cinemas located in France, Spain and Morocco.
Last week, seven years after the group’s inception, the Event Cinema Association managing director Grainne Peat proudly took center stage at CineEurope and presented ECA members’ product presentation to a packed main auditorium. This successful event did not happen overnight.
