CJ 4DPlex has announced the locations of the next four 4DX theatre locations to open as part of its agreement with Cinépolis. The next 4DX theatre part of the agreement will open in Mexicali, Mexico on January 15, bringing the total number of 4DX sites in Mexico to 31.
Germany’s Cinecitta’ Nuremberg, one of Europe’s largest and most technically advanced multiplexes, has purchased two Sony Digital Cinema SRX-R815DS 4K laser dual projection systems. RealD today filed a complaint with the District Court (Landgericht) in Düsseldorf, alleging that Volfoni SAS, Volfoni GmbH and CinemaNext Deutschland have infringed three of RealD’s European patents by the importation, sale, or offer for sale of the Volfoni SmartCrystal Diamond cinema systems in Germany. In the complaint, RealD requests an injunction banning the sale of the infringing devices and seeks financial damages.
